Blackhead Removal Strips!

Hey everyone

So if you follow me on snapchat (liljodibubz) you would have seen that I got these bad boys..

And here is the link..

So as you can see I got a pack of 10 for €2. As usual, they took 3 weeks to arrive. I had forgotten I even ordered them to be honest! So I was delighted when they came in the post today. I went to Waterford City to visit my good friend Penny <3 and when I got back I just had to give them a go.

Now, I saw these like blackhead removal masks on YouTube first and the proper thing comes in three steps so here I presume I'm just using the second step. Basically, if you haven't seen the videos I'm talking about, this blackhead removal kit comes in 3 steps. Firstly you apply some sort of lotion to the nose area, then this mask and then another lotion when you're done. So I basically got step two.

I have no idea what those other two lotions are so I just cleaned my nose off with the +Primark cleansing wipes - Kayleigh will kill me - and some Micellar water.

This is extremely messy so do it in the bathroom or something cause I done it in my room and I can't cope. So I opened the packet, squeezed some out onto cardboard and then applied with my fingers.

Like just apply it how you like really. That's just what I done. Anyway this take legit an hour to dry. A full hour. And I did not even apply that much like when I peeled it off it was thin enough. Keep that in mind. That's a huge con for me because I just don't want to wait that long to see if my blackheads have been removed like I just don't.

A pro was that I could see bumps and lumps on my nose so I thought jano this is the mask pulling up the blackheads. Well after an hour passed this was my result..

Looks rotten, I know but to be honest that's not even a great photo. I truly believe that the mask pulled out hairs. I'm no expert but I think that's my peach fuzz not blackheads. Now to be fair there was like three dot things on it that could have been blackheads? I'm not sure.

So me being me, I done it again, sure what else was I at? And the second time around nothing came out only them little hairs again that everyone in the world has on their body.

My conclusion to these are that they take too long to dry, don't pull much out but they do make your nose area really soft. I wish I had a before and after of my nose so I could actually see. I might wait a few weeks, let it get dirty again and then do proper photos and all that.

But at the end of the day, they're only €2. Just because they didn't work well for me, doesn't mean they won't work for you. To be honest, I don't even know if I had proper blackheads! Janat ( bbeauty_jan ) is the main woman for skin and she told me I could just be pulling out sebum. Didn't even know what that was until she told me haha!

Sure look lads, it's a bit of fun, a bit disgusting, a bit satisfying and perfect for a pamper night or girlie night in!

I just wanted to share them with ye cause a lot asked me on snapchat about them so here you go now :) Hope you enjoyed this post and let me know if you order any or have any other recommendations!

My New Tattoo!

Hey everyone!

Today is a bit different and maybe controversial but I wanted to just blog about how I got a new tattoo today! If you don't like tattoos/agree with them or believe they should have meanings to them then stop reading now cause I'm about to tell you how my morning went!

So I've been booked in with John at Low Voltage Tattoo, Portlaw for about 2 weeks now and today my appointment was for 10:30. Although I had two weeks to decide what I wanted I was just so busy with work, college, events and friends that it didn't cross my mind until last night.

I went online as you do and looked up old school styled tattoos because that's the style I like. I found a few and shared with friends and that was all well and good. So I was delighted I had found something and thought nothing more of it.

Dad woke me at 8:30 for breakfast and said we'd leave at 9:30. All grand. Got there at about 10 and John text me to say come in so we got an early start. I showed him what I found online and he likes the old school style himself so he thought they were nice and would be handy to do.

As he was getting set up, myself and my father were looking through the books and I actually found what I got in the book. It was something I had seen before but didn't even consider it as a tattoo because my friend has one and also I know it means something but I don't know what exactly it stands for but it was a Hamsa hand. I still don't know what it means but I appreciate the art of it all.

I knew I was getting it on the front of my thigh so I've a bit of meat there to take the pain but to be honest it didn't hurt at all, I sat there happily for the hour. Yep it only took one hour, John is fab!

So yeah John just drew it up and the first placement of it was spot on so we got right into it. I've no complaints at all, John will always ask you every now and again if you're okay and if you need a break or anything but I was grand so we tipped away at it.

I think that's all I have to say about it like I got it done and I'm absolutely in love with it, so are all my friends and family ( not that is matters ) but it's nice when other people like your tattoos I guess! I'd obviously highly recommend Low Voltage Tattoo because it's quick, cheap and friendly. You might be like oh Jodi you just said it's cheap like that sounds bad? Look take it how you like, go have a look at his work, chat to him about prices yourself and then come back to me and be like oh yeah he is cheap considering how talented his work is. Well that's just my opinion. You can find him on Facebook.

Hopefully this didn't offend anyone but I did warn you so! This isn't my first tattoo so I know how to take care of it and if anyone is wondering, I use the nappy rash cream Bepanthen on my tattoos when they're healing up. Don't soak it in water for the first two weeks until it's healed up just let the shower water run on it and don't wear fake tan getting a tattoo or apply fake tan over the tattoo until it's healed cause the tan will mix with the ink.

I think they're my only recommendations but that's just what I've learned and what works for me but obvs ask your tattoo artist yourself for anymore tips and advice on tattoo aftercare and that.

Now I think I've said it all so yeah I hope you enjoyed this quick post!

I hope I have mentioned everyone that has helped along the way and donated amazing spot prizes. If I forgot you I'm so sorry but I do think I have everyone! And also, of course, a huge thank you to anyone that donated online, on the night or bought raffle tickets. We raised €500 for the Irish Cancer Society due to everyone's generosity so thank you all so much! And obvs a huge shoutout to my team mates Nadia and Ellie, who without them the night would have been a disaster so thank you so much as well girls X

Right now that that's out of the way let's move on to the night itself. Myself and the girls had all our bits and bobs bought and ready to set up so we all arrived at 3:30 to set up! We had one hour to get the place ready. We had to figure out the music system and microphone and pull out tables and chairs ( thanks Richie, Gavin and Sean! ) But we got that all done in no time.

Doors were opening for 4:30 and we had a good crowd! I was over the moon to see that my fellow #deisebloggers made it down so thank you so much to Jamie, Shirley, Laura and Aoife, the support is just unreal from all of the girls! But yeah we kinda just let people come in while some music was playing and let them get settled in.

I was also trying to calm my own nerves before I went on stage to talk but if you know me you know I don't stop anyway so like I dunno why I was nervous but anyway. We waited until about 5 o clock to kick off but that's when our 10 large pizzas arrived haha! So after that we got the show on the road!

I spoke for a bit and Nadia began her makeup tutorial on Niamh which was fab to watch! I learned so much. I also just popped around and chatted with everyone too :)

After Nadia it was my turn for my makeup tutorial on Amy and yeah of course it took me more than an hour to do but sure! And oh my god I need to apologise firstly for blowing the heads off ye when I was playing with the music system and it went too loud! And secondly for the music stopping and starting every so often haha.

After myself, Ellie done her makeup tutorial on Shannon and Ellie is super quick at makeup I can't get over the two girls!

So after that we did a table quiz which took two mins to do but like Aoife really wanted to do it so of course we had it! Everyone got 10/10 so we had a little tie breaker and yeah that was fun!

Then we had the big raffle! We had like 16 prizes which is just unreal and it was hilarious because most of my family or close friends won prizes but I swear it wasn't fixed, clearly hahah but that was fun and then we just got Danielle to count up all the money and between online donations and on the night we raised €500 so that was just amazing. My goal in my own head was €500 and I'm just delighted that we all reached the lil goal I had in my head haha!

So yeah I think that's it, I mean we had a schedule so everything went to plan and smoothly and I couldn't have asked for a better team, support system or turn out on the night so I'm absolutely delighted with how it all ran and I look forward to possibly holding another charity event in the future because it is fun and it's for a good cause. It's always good to give back what you can.

So from myself, Nadia and Ellie thank you all so so so much for everything we really appreciate it all and I'm sure the Irish Cancer Society will be delighted with all of the funding!

Yer all so fab and thank you once again!

The Irish Beauty Show 2016: My Experience.

Hey everyone

I'm finally getting some time to sit down and write this post! This was just what I thought of it, everyone is different but this is my experience at the Irish Beauty Show in the RDS, Dublin. So let's get into it..

Right so firstly, I had my tickets booked since November! I actually forgot about it for a few months because it wasn't on until March! I had asked a few of the girls did they want to go but it didn't suit everyone so I dragged poor Richie along.

The week before I booked our train tickets and we had spins set to and from Waterford train station. All that was grand.

A few days before I was chatting to some of the other #deisebloggers and they all had plans prepared of what stand to go to and what products to pick up. I knew I wanted brushes and I didn't plan for anything else, which isn't bad for me because when I'm under pressure I'll make a decision quickly anyway but if you're the type of person that needs a plan and list then do make it before hand. Have a look at what brands will be there and do your research.

I had been saving for about a month or two beforehand so I didn't buy anything unless I needed it for my kit so I wasn't on that much of a budget.

So we got the 9 o clock train, we were in Dublin at about 11 and we didn't make it to the RDS until 12 I think due to the Luas and taxis. I thought I had the luas planned out but I actually didn't have a clue how to work the green line luas so if you know it then you know you can get the luas near enough to the RDS but if you don't just get a taxi.

So we had our tickets already and we got into the show fairly quick. I knew it was going to be busy but oh my god. We went on Sunday which was the first day of the event. It was manic.

I hadn't a clue where any of my fav stalls were so we turned right and walked around. We eventually got to know the area and I started shopping. Richie would find himself a quite spot to stand in and wait for me to hand him even more bags, the poor fella.

So yeah I won't bore you too much but basically, it was absolute chaos, girls are like bulls and Richie wasn't the only poor fella be dragged around. We did LAPS of the place.

If you have a temper, which I do, I just wouldn't recommend it simply because everyone has the same goal, to grab stuff, but some people are slow at doing that. Like they will take their time standing at a stall and picking what they want and you might know exactly what you want but you have to wait for this ejit. I know that's so harsh but that's me having a temper. I can't even talk about this anymore or I'll get in trouble haha! But if you can't handle waiting on people and the slowness of how the crowds move then just stay at home and order online.

On top of being a bit angry, I was getting anxious with the crowds and Richie was too, I just knew by him. It is an overwhelming experience and fair play to him for coming with me and dealing with that. I don't do that well in crowds of people like getting pushed and shoved is not something I can handle mentally and physically.

Those are my two downsides and I think they've honestly put me off going again. You do get brilliant deals and you will get to meet all these fab bloggers and MUAs but I suppose everything had pros and cons to it.

I got loads at the beauty show and I met my fellow #deisebloggers which I am delighted about, that part of the experience was unreal and I loved it but I'm just not suited to these type of events. And I lost my fav jacket but thanks to +Laura Dempsey Makeup  and +Cailyn Cosmetics  and Jamie from Grey Skies and Silver Linings I got it back! It would take me!

And lads, I love +TooDollyMakeup so when I seen her I said hello and she knew me or like at least she knew my name.ded.

I loved it.

I loved that aspect as I said but can't handle the crowds. I would love to meet all my fellow bloggers again in a more relaxed atmosphere and shop online. So I think I will give next year a miss but it's an experience every girl should have. You may be totally different to me but that's just how I felt about it all.

Hope you enjoyed this post, I think a lot of you thought I had an all-round ball at it but that's not the case here. Pros and cons to everything! If you went, let me know how you found it!

Four February Favorites

Hey everyone!

It's been a while because I'm actually saving up for the Irish Beauty Show! Poor Richie is getting dragged along with me but that's why I haven't been blogging lately, I haven't really bought anything worth sharing on a whole blog post.

With that being said, I'm soo into snapchat recently, I don't even watch TV anymore..
I've seen a good few girls mention their five fav beauty products of February so I wanted to just share four with you today!

You may have noticed that I was really boring with my makeup, well I didn't do much with my eye makeup anyways, I mainly focused on the skin and lips! Here's a photo where I have used all the products mentioned below, so can see what I'm talking about!

So here are 4 of my favorite and most used items from February!

I've been using these for months now but I would them in conjunction with a brow gel but recently I've been using them alone for a more natural brow look. These are the brow powders by +Billion Dollar Brows  and are €25 each! They're pigmented enough to fill in the brows but light enough to still be natural looking.

Next, I have re-discovered my love for +L'OrĂ©al Paris UK & Ireland  True Match foundation. Why did I ever stop using it? It's a chemist foundation and the best one I think! Costs €15 but there are always offers online and in stores. I use the shade Golden Beige when I'm tanned and Ivory when I'm pale! Addicted to this foundation and it's coverage.

You may have noticed my glow is uncontrollable lately and that's all down to this lil pot of gold. This is a baked eye shadow by Pure Colour which is +New Look own makeup range! I haven't used it as a shadow yet but this gives the best highligh ever across the cheek bones, nose and cupids bow! Bargain highlighter for €8.

And finally, I'm almost over matte lips and want something more Spring time appropriate. Not that it looks or feels like Spring but yaano.. I've been going for a more glossy look which I think makes your lips look bigger so I say step away from the matte and pick up the gloss. This lipgloss lip balm is from +PAESE Cosmetics UAE and is only €6! It's so gorgeous on the lips, they just feel like butter for the entire day! This paired with Penneys PS Love lip liner in 06 is the dream team!

So lads I hope ye enjoyed this post and keep an eye out for March's favorites!
