FOTD: Face Of The Day & First Impressions

Hey everyone! Hope you're all well.

Today I gave some more products from the #DeiseBloggers event a go!

I'm just going to go through it step by step. So here is the look that I came up with today.

So first off I cleaned my face with the Bioderma micellar water - works a treat! love it.
Then I went in with my Ziaja deep moisturizing cream - absolutely fab!

After all that prep I do my brows. I created the base of my brow line with Inglots brow gel in number 16 but used the Billion Dollar Brows powders for the rest of the brow. We got the shades Taupe and Light Brown. I thought Taupe would be lighter but it's not. I really love the powders for their pigment and blend-ability. The brushes are also amazing, my favourite would be the double ended brush but they're like flat brushes, for carving out the brows with concealer. So I'm really impressed and loving Billion Dollar Brows!

Next onto foundation. I just used Vichy Ideal Teint in number 45 and Relvon in shade 010 Buff. However, I mixed a bit of the Jessica oil into the foundations to give an all over glow and it worked really well. Great little tip to make dewy foundation and especially great for those with dry skin - this oil will hydrate the skin and make the dry patches go!

Now I got to try my Penneys brushes! eeep! So I applied my MAC Pro Longwear concealer with the Penneys double ended foundation and concealer brush, obvs using the smaller side for my concealer. These brushes are so soft and the max you'll pay for a brush is like €3. I am soo impressed with this brush because it applied the concealer so smoothly - I didn't experience any brush strokes or anything so I love this brush for concealer.

Once I had my base down, I wanted to set my concealer with powder. I normally use baby powder but I gave my Anneco mineral foundation a try. I have the light shade and I love the highlighted look under the eyes so this was amazing, Not only did it set my concealer but made my skin look airbrushed. Delighted with this mineral foundation as a setting powder. Will defo give it a go all over the face as a foundation.

Then I highlighted using the Penneys highlighter. Now, I am used to MaryLou by theBalm so I was like it's not going to be as good but I was pleasantly surprised at the payoff of this products. I actually really like this highlighter and one 'layer' is great for everyday but I also packed it on and it looked amazing. I also popped on the blush from Penneys - I don't normally wear blush - but I really do like this colour. I feel like it's a great Winter colour to add that nice flush across the face - be careful using this as it is super pigmented so just tap your brush in and pop onto the cheeks :)

Next was contouring and I love me some contouring. I used the Penneys contour/bronzer brush to do this and oh my god it's so soft. Really impressed with this brush also because it's super soft, cheap and blends out the powder extremely well. I can't recommend these brushes enough, sure for the price like where would ya be going? Amazing!

Then I moved onto my eye look and I created a sort of smokey look with the Bronze Queen palette by W7 which as you may know is an affordable brand. I was like oh it's a bit cheaper than the shadows I normally use so I was being snobby but I still gave it a go. I learned to NOT tap off the excess product or you will basically tap off all the product so just pick it up on the brush and pop onto the eyes. That way, it works really well and shadows are way more pigmented. I also want to share that the bone shade like the lightest shade in the palette is a matte bone colour and lord above it is my new fav matte shade for under the brow. Like honestly it's perfect for when you don't want a glittery brow bone but want it still highlighted. This palette has mattes and shimmers and I love them all. Such a good palette and at a great price. Again, you can't go wrong.

Finally my lips were just Liar lip liner by Urban Decay and Honeylove lipstick by MAC but then I popped on the Paese cosmetics lipgloss/lipbalm thing. It's a fab nudey pink shade so right up my ally way and it made my matte lip into a fab glossy nude lip and it made my lips feel amazing and plump all day!

So lads, well done for reading all that. I am really surprised that I'm liking everything so far. I thought there would be a few products that just wouldn't agree with me but I'm super happy. My fav would have to be the Penneys products like I am so impressed - highly recommend giving them a go!

I hope you enjoyed this post and gained some inspo!

Thanks for reading!Xx

P.S - I would love to know what products you may have tried from the ones mentioned above!

First Impressions

Hi everyone! So if you saw my last blog post

http://jodirochemakeup.blogspot.ie/2015/11/deiseblogger-event-2015.html

You would have seen the amazing things we got in our goodie bag. Well since there is so much to get through, I thought about doing first impressions firstly and then if I still like and use the products, I'll do a favourites post maybe at the end of the month! Hopefully I'll have gotten through the goodie bags by then!

So today is Sunday and I'm being extremely lazy and I just popped in the shower a minute ago and decided to take some products with me! I had been up since 8 Saturday doing my hair, tan and makeup so you know yourself you just need to shower after events and all that!

I tried out a few products so here we go! Here is my face before, eyeliner still on my eyes and all! Fab!

And here are the products I just tried out!

I brought the Thalgo shower gel in with me and the Moogoo cleansing bar.

I immediately loved the smell of the soap when I smelt it last night so I just had to use it today. It's an oatmeal smell and its right up my street. I absolutely adore this scent and soap. I wouldn't be an expert on soap now so I didn't know if this was just hand soap or what but I threw it on everywhere, didn't even read the box either.

Moogoo is actually an Australian brand and believes in using all natural ingredients! It's even suitable for infants so anyone can use this stuff. Each cleansing bar is enriched with cocoa butter and olive oil to give you amazingly soft skin! I can agree with that fully like my skin feels so so soft and I smell great. So I honestly do love this stuff.

I mean what can I say about a shower gel really? When I saw it last night I was like ah grand a shower gel like whatever but I want to give each brand a try and so I did today. I used the Thalgo marine shower gel and oh my god, to me, it smells like the beach. Like it does have that sea salt smell or just beachy smell but not only does it have the scent, it makes you feel fresh. The smell goes away, I think? Well I can't smell it on myself anymore anyway but the fresh feeling stays.

I think the Thalgo shower gel combined with the Moogoo cleaning bar is a great combo. You smell fab from the bar and feel fresh after the gel! Win/win situation here. Especially great on a Sunday, if you catch my drift.. haha!

So after my shower I used a few facial products. Firstly I used the Bioderma micellar water. I mean I'm like everyone and I have the Garnier micellar water. I've only ever tried these two and for me anyway they're both the same. They both remove my makeup and cleanse my face so I do like the Bioderma miceller water.

Then I applied the Ziaja deep moisturizing cream and I think this is from the marine algae line. Ziaja is a polish company that are fairly new to Ireland but so affordable. You won't be paying more than €13 from like normal ranges but they also have a medical range and the most expensive thing from the medical range would be about €60 if I remember correctly.

Now I have oily skin but that doesn't mean you ever skip moisturizer. And even though I have oily skin, I do love a good thick cream. I just think it feels much nicer than a light cream. It kinda feels more luxurious. So anyway, this cream is actually for 30+ years but I like it. It has something in it that kind of plumps the skin up again which is great because as you get older you loose that plumpness. Even though I'm young, I still love that plumped up feeling. I don't mean puffy at all but just like a lovely plumped up healthy face and that is what I feel right now with this cream. I'm really enjoying this!

And finally, I applied the Jessica phenomen oil on top. Jessica is actually a nail salon that started in 1969! And the products would be available in any of the big salons or spas around. So this oil is actually for your like nail area on the hands and feet. However, I watch Desi Perkins and iluvsarahii on YouTube and Instagram and they actually apply oils to their face or mix in with foundation.

Now as I said I have oily skin but I love it be feeling just luxurious and that's what oil does for me. It's just so fancy to me! So I took about 3 drops and patted that into my skin on top of that Ziaja cream and my face just feels amazing and hydrated.

So far I am genuinely liking these products. I'm all about being honest with my readers and I wouldn't just tell ye I liked something for the sake of it but I really do like these products. Bare in mind, this is a first impression of them, so like I could wake up tomorrow with a break out and hate these products by tomorrow. I will let ye know if that happens, hopefully not.

This is my face after I have applied all the products mentioned. Just seems to have more of a glow to it and just healthier.

I hope you enjoyed this first impression!

#DeiseBlogger Event 2015! - Goodie Bag Haul

Hi everyone!

Yesterday I was so proud of myself and the girls for holding the first ever blogger event in Waterford! Today this is just a haul of the amazing goody bags we made up and everyone got! I am beyond excited to show you what was inside so let's get right into it.

First is a fab brown shadow and pinky lipgloss from Paese Cosmetics! I can't wait to try both out!

Next we have a luxurious tanning mitt and exfoliater from Glove Your Body, again I can't wait to apply my tan with this, it is literally like a glove! Perfect pressie for the tan loving one!

I'm so excited about these from Babydoll Cosmetics. I only ever use tan from Penneys and I've heard amazing things about Tan Goddess so hopefully it'll work for me and I've also been getting into individual lashes recently so these are just perfect.

If you know me, you know I am screaming at this. I am just ecstatic about these brow products from Billion Dollar Brows.

This is a box of skincare goodies from Nia and my skincare is non existent at the moment so I'm going to try everything out and keep you posted!

Love me some Micellar water and I've heard great things about this one from Bioderma!

When I heard Penneys was sponsoring us, that was enough for me! I've been wanting to try literally all of these products since they launched. So I can't wait to try the brushes and lashes! So excited for their highlighter which is meant to be amazing but not in stores in Waterford yet so I feel like a celeb haha!

Like lads, I can't deal. These are like full size samples from Ziaja skincare which is pronounced like Hiyah with a Z obvs haha! I'm buzzing to also try these out! So inexpensive too.

Sometimes my skin does get sensitive, well in Winter it does. So I'm so happy to have these wipes during this season and as you can see they are all pure!

Nima Brush were kind enough to give us each a €10 voucher! I know I'll be shopping in a bit :)

We got some amazing sets from Impress Nails and I've used them before so I know they work super well! Last on me for over a week.

We got some amazing colourful goodies from Wet N Wild. I love the nail polish for Christmas time and that navy blue shadow would be perfect for a smoked out navy eye look.

Got some gorgeous green polish from Flormar so I can't wait to pair that with my sparkly red from Wet N Wild.

Ah sugar this can't be rotated but we got beautiful scents from So..? Fragrance. I remember these from when I was younger but the brand had become so sophisticated since then and I can't wait to smell fab!

The Body Shop kindly gave us a voucher for some brow threading and also like a liquid mousse blush! Really interesting product but it smells like watermelon and I love that. Can't  want to play around with it.

Next W7 gave us this fab palette called Bronze Queen. I still haven't opened it because I have so much stuff to get through but don't worry I'm sure it will be featured shortly!

I was in awe when I saw this, well first I saw the F23 brush and I was like omg but then I saw the eyeliner and I was just floored. Heard amazing things about both products! Thank you Blank Canvas!

Gucci Bamboo perfume - need I say more?

If you've been reading for a while, you know I love this Catrice foundation! Got a darker shade so I am delighted for when I'm tan!

These gold eye mask are from Skinlogic and I am so intrigued by them, can't wait for a pamper night! Sorry I can't stop saying: I can't wait, about every product but it's like Christmas has come early.

Next is heap of stuff from Thalgo! All skincare items, buzzing to test all of these out!

This Works gave us this sleeping pillow spray! Basically, spray this onto your pillow before bed and the scent helps you sleep! God knows I'll be needing this.

I was like oh a lovely toothbrush but then I found the toothpaste to go along with it so then it made sense! These are from Beverly Hills Formula. I think it's a whitening toothpaste!

We got this key chain lip balm from Balmi which is just so handy like cause everyone is always rooting through their bags looking for the little Vaseline or whatever so I think this is going to be a savior, especially in Winter.

My nan actually raves about this cream from Vichy so I just think a pamper night is well needed.

Dream Dots gave us a 10% discount code so please feel free to use this too! Code: DREAM10

Next are these bits from Moogoo and can I just say, that bar of soap smells like oatmeal which I never knew I liked the smell of, but it's the best thing I have ever smelt! I'm already obsessed!

Next is a tanning lotion by Academie, I've never used a product like this before so it will be interesting to see how this works!

Next is a hair and body wash by Childs Farm and I absolutely love the packaging it is sooo cute! May have to give this to Maisy!

Next we have a very large sized sample of Declare cleansing milk, looks so luxurious - can't wait! My face should be flawless after all these products!

Next is a mineral foundation by Anneco which is an Irish made company! I never use mineral products at all, I wonder will I be converted?

Here we have a huge sample size from Jessica and it's some body oil! I think I'll be adding this to my foundation throughout the Winter.

Few little bits from Bioderma! So happy about this because I have the moisturizer and I love it so much so I'm expecting great things from these!

Every girl needs this or some sort of eye makeup remover! Heard amazing things about this. I can't wait to actually clean my face properly because I normally just use baby wipes, I know, I'm awful. Thank you Nivea!

How more fancy can we get? A NUXE smoothing cream? Yes please! Seems like this would be a great base for makeup!

Finally, a bracelet from Pura Vida. We each got one and as Lisa said last night on snapchat it's like a little friendship bracelet for us all! My brother took mine but it's okay haha!

Alright guys I think that's it! Popchips and Propercorn also gave us treats but we ate them lol.

I want to say a huge thank you to the Kazbar Waterford for having us and also Kilmeaden cakes for supplying yummy cupcakes for us!

All of these brands will be linked on my Instagram and Facebook page shortly so please go follow them and check them all out.

I can't thank everyone enough for such an amazing night. Literally speechless. We all did ourselves proud!

More posts to follow shortly!
