Thursday Tip! - Haircare

Hey everyone!

This is going to be a short and sweet tip for you all.

So today I got my hair done and if you know what I look like, which I presume you do haha then you would know that I have blonde hair. This is not natural and yes I do bleach the shite out of my hair. Apart from it clearly being damaged and weak I find that my hair will get knotted, a lot.

I asked my cousin what can I do to prevent these giant knots in my hair. I joked saying I need to deep condition it but she said that's what I should do. I know some of us may treat our hair once a week or month with cheaper hair masks or home-made ones, which is good but the once off only fixes it once I guess.

With that, my cousin who is my hairdresser, told me to replace my normal conditioner with a hair mask treatment thing. Anything in a tub basically. Any brand or type will do. I picked up my hair mask in Dealz for €1.50, of course.

And this worked wonders. Just goes to show that a simple and cheap switch can benefit your hair. No need to spend a fortune. Pop into your nearest Dealz for some tubs of hair mask! You won't regret it.

Hope you enjoyed this little tip!

Hypnose Mascara by Lancome

Hey everyone!

Today I want to share with you a mascara that I have been trying recently. If you have been reading for a while then you will know that I absolutely love the Doll Eyes mascara by +Lancome USA  so I was excited to try out the Hypnose mascara.

I got this mascara in a sample size but rest assured I will buy the full size. To be honest, I used to think that more expensive mascaras were another gimmick and the cheaper ones would  be the exact same or better. Not bashing the cheaper brands at all because some more affordable ones are amazing but I just wanted to also prove that you can get what you pay for with regards to some higher priced mascaras.

I'll just let the pictures do the talking for this post. The proof is in the pudding. I want to let you know that the final result was using 3 coats of this mascara & I did not curl my lashes. I like big clumpy, long lashes so if you don't then just don't do 3 coats haha!

1 Layer

2 Layers

3 Layers

So as you can see there is a huge difference in my lashes when I use this mascara. I wasn't having the best makeup day ever but at least the lashes were good!

This mascara is available in Sam McCauleys Dungarvan, just ask Danika all about it!

Hope you enjoyed this post.

Tan Organic - Overall Thoughts

Hey everyone!

So today I'm here to give my verdict on the Tan Organic range, or at least what I have tried from the range. From my first post, you will know that I give the exfoliating mitt 10 out of 10 and that still stands. It is an amazing exfoliating mitt which I rate highly.

Secondly, I want to briefly talk about the multi-use dry oil.

This didn't get a mention in any previous posts because I had not used it. But I have now! And I can say that this is a brilliant oil for everything. This is unisex and can be used on the skin, hair and nails. I applied this to myself and loved it and also applied it to Gavin, he has skin like a desert and it worked like magic on him. Big thumbs up from us. If you're in need of a new body oil, I would recommend you try this out. This costs €25.

And finally, the self-tanning oil. I've had numerous updates on this on the blog, Facebook and Snapchat. You can look at back at all of those posts still but today I will be giving my final thoughts on the tan. So I think I'm going to list pros and cons and who I think this is suitable for and why.

Pros:
  • No Smell
  • Easy to use/apply
  • Quickly dries into the skin
  • Develops over night
  • Nice, natural looking tan
  • Buildable in colour - can add more layers to build up a nice glowy tan
Cons:
  • No colour guide to show where you're applying it
  • Develops overnight
  • Needs to be layered up to get a darker tan
So as you can see the pros outweigh the cons which is always a good sign. I also want to mention that I think the price point is very fair as a lot of work goes into the product but also the packaging. I dropped my bottle like 5 times and I thought it would smash but it didn't so this is very well made. Keep in mind that everything used to make this product is organic and natural so we all know you do pay more for more natural ingredients and materials but it's good for the environment. This is not tested on animals or anything like that either!

You can check back on my previous posts to see how the colour developed and all that jazz but today I'm going to show you my colour after three layers. So I applied this three days in row after my shower.

There you can see for yourself the colour that you can get by layering the product. You do not have to just layer it on once a day, you can layer it throughout a day to get the colour you want so please remember that. Just give it a chance.

I think we can all agree that it looks like a very natural, seamless tan. It's the type of tan that make people wonder is it fake or real? I think that's a good thing because sometimes it's not great when people know right away that you've just lashes on the fake tan. At least this looks natural enough. You can apply this to your face but I just didn't because I don't do that anyway and that's what my makeup is for.

So overall, I do actually like the tan. This is not a bad tan and I'm glad I got to try it out. I think this is perfect for those of you that have dry skin, this is an oil so it will not cling to dry patches it'll actually moisturize the skin. This is also perfect for those of you that like a more subtle tan but as I said you can layer it up to be quite dark, so it pretty much suits everyone. This is great for over night because there's no tan smell and no transfer so you won't have to worry about your white bed sheets smelling or having tan on them. You'll wake up with a natural, glowy tan. If you're travelling the bottle is 100ml so fab for holidays as well.

I really hope you enjoyed these last couple of posts on the tan and the updates. Hope you found it informative and helpful. If you think you'll get on great with this tan then of course give it a go. I do think it'll suit everyone's skin type but especially those with drier skin.

The self-tanning oil costs €25 and can be got in Mulligans Pharmacy, Waterford or Sam McCauleys,Dungarvan. It's actually the world's first self-tanning oil so that's pretty cool.

Let me know your thoughts on this, if you would purchase or if you already have. I'd love to hear!

Tan Organic's Self-Tanning Oil - The Next Day!

Hey everyone!

So yesterday I blogged about my first impressions of the Tan Organic mitt & self-tanning oil. Well today I'm here to report back on how it looks, feels and developed.

First of all, I'm as pale as they come. I'm genuinely like milk. I struggle so much to get a foundation to match me when I'm pale because I'm that light. So that is why I always wear self-tan. It's the main reason I wear self-tan.

So as mentioned in my previous post, this is like a body oil, it is clear in colour with no smell. So I was pretty much blind putting this on, just hoping I was covering all areas!

Honestly, after one hour I saw a bit of colour coming up. My nail tech even noticed it on my hands too! This tan does take about 8 hours to develop so this is not one that you can apply just before you head out the door.

I have woken up to a very natural colour. It actually is dark enough but me being me, I'm going to apply more today. But I think if you don't wear tan everyday and just want a beautiful natural colour then the one layer will definitely suit you. Also, if you have drier skin this is absolutely amazing because this is an oil and your skin will soak it in immediately, that is why there was no drying time yesterday with me. It just soaked into my skin leaving it moisturized. To be honest, my skin does feel great!

Ignore my breakout but you can see the difference between my chest, neck and face.

So I think that if you want just a healthy, natural Summer glow then this is perfect for you.

Last night I discovered that Diane Everett, a Waterford makeup artist, loves this product but she's dark enough so I presume she adds a couple more layers. I just did one to see how it came out and I have to say I'm very impressed.

So far, so good. The pictures do not do it justice, honestly I have a lovely tan colour but the camera just won't pick it up! You can see slight differences in the photos but I promise I'm darker than I appear in the pics.

The thing that I love most about the tan is the hand area. My hands look naturally tanned, there isn't anything in my knuckles or you know those little nooks and crannies! I also love that there is no smell to the tan and there is actually no transfer whatsoever. I even wore white underwear and t shirt yesterday to see would it transfer and it didn't one single bit.

I've woken up a happy and impressed girl. I'm going to add a couple more layers today, throughout my day. It says you can do that on the box so that's what I'll do. Just to see how it builds up as I do like a bit more of a darker tan.

I should mention that I did not apply this on my face even though you can. I just never ever apply tan to my face so that's just me.

So far I would recommend this tan because it claims to be fuss free and I can totally agree with that now. This is great if you like a natural colour. I am going to see how dark I can get it though!

This is probably the easiest tan I have used and I have really enjoyed how my skin feels with it.

I'll be back tomorrow with another update. This tan costs €25 and is available in Mulligans Pharmacy, Waterford & Sam McCauleys Dungarvan.

Hope you found this helpful. Keep an eye out for tomorrow's post.

I just took these photos this morning actually! These photos definitely give a more true to colour tan that I have going on!

Tan Organic - First Impressions

Hey everyone!

So this morning a lovely parcel from Tan Organic arrived. I was thrilled as I had just scrubbed off my previous tan and needed a fresh coat on!

Small bit of background on the brand before I get into the post. So first of all, it is an Irish brand which I fully support. If you can, always support Irish brands. Of course, this is an organic tan so the ingredients are all natural & organic. It's an eco-friendly tan and cruelty free, which is also very important.

Disclaimer - yes I was sent these tans but all thoughts & opinions are my own. Huge thank you to Tan Organic for getting in touch and sending these out to me.

So my first impressions will be on the Tan Erase Ultimate Exfoliator Glove and the Self-Tanning Oil.

The mitt retails for €15 and the self-tanning oil for €25 which can both be got in Mulligans Pharmacy in Waterford. I should mention that this is my first time ever trying out anything from the brand so I was super excited.

Onto the mitt, this mitt is as rough as you know what! Which is brilliant. Believe me when I say I've tried everything, from body scrubs to mixing sugar in with my shower gel. I would normally wear a mousse tan which can be hard to get off. Today I had left over tan still on me and this mitt got it off instantly. I would say that I would re-purchase, however the quality of this mitt is just second to none. I feel it will last me a life time! I already give this mitt 10/10.

Now onto the self-tanning oil. First of all, the packaging is just so amazing, so luxurious and made extremely well. The bottle is heavy like and glass! It's just so fancy, I love love love the packaging.

I have never in my life used an oil product like this one. Very strange to me as I am used to using instant mousse tan. So yeah I was terrified applying this. But basically, this is like a body oil. There's no colour to it, there's no smell. It is just like a pure oil for your body. You wouldn't even know it was a tan.

This went on like a dream. Of course, it was lovely to use and felt moisturizing. I just applied it as I was instructed to, so no gloves or mitts I just used my hands to apply and I wiped my palms with a baby wipe.

I found that I used maybe too much product but as mentioned, I'm not used to these type of products so I just lashed it on everywhere. You can see how much I used in my first go & I only applied it to the top half of my body.

There's no point in showing you an after photo because there is no colour guide to this tan, it will develope within 6-8 hours. There is little to no drying time which is great you can apply and get dressed right away. The tan claims to have no transfer no we will see about that.

Overall, I'm really impressed with the tan, how it applies and how it currently feels on the skin. I'm excited to see how it will develope and what type of colour I'll get. My skin's pH level must be really good because tans take to my skin so well so yeah I'm excited.

So that's just my first impression of the tan. I hope you found this helpful and I will post tomorrow about how it developes and looks, photos and the whole lot will be included. You can find Tan Organic on their website :   http://www.tanorganic.com/
Instagram : https://www.instagram.com/tanorganicofficial/
Twitter : https://twitter.com/TanOrganic
Facebook : https://www.facebook.com/TanOrganic/?fref=ts

And as mentioned these products are available in Mulligans Pharmacy.

I hope you enjoyed this post. Can't wait to blog more about the tan and take you with me on this new tanning journey haha!

3 Week Brow Update

Hey everyone!

It's been three weeks now since the brows are tattooed on. Not much to report back on really. They are defo healed by now. Some slight itching but that could be a number of things such as the heat on my face from the sun but it's nothing major.

Very small post for now. Again I will leave ye with photos to judge for yourself. I do still fill them in slightly with powder or gel but it takes me two mins! Such a time saver. I defo do not regret getting them done. I just want them a small bit darker.

The before is obvs them not filled in at all!

I am going for my top up on July 6th so we'll be back in the whole process of it again and I'll bring ye along with me!

I probably won't do a 4 week update because I'm sure they'll remain the same. If I have left out any information or if you have any other questions at all, just ask! I'm more than happy to help anyone. And if you ever even see me in person come up for the chat and have a look at them haha I don't bite!

Hope you enjoyed this post even though there's not much to it.

MAC Give Me Sun Bronzer: Review & Comparison

Hey everyone!

So about 3 weeks ago I picked up the MAC Give Me Sun Bronzer because everyone and their mother claimed to love it. So of course I had to have it for myself. The girl told me it would suit everyone which is perfect for all of my clients.

However, I would not recommend this product. Now maybe I got a dud or something but any client that has been in with me over the past 3 weeks, I've showed it to them and asked them to swatch it and they've all been let down by it.

Now I'm not bashing the brand at all but this particular product just didn't do it for me. It costs €31.50 and you can honestly get better ones in Dealz for €1.49.

This MAC bronzer has been compared to the Dealz bronzer plenty of times. The makeup gallery bronzer has even been called a dupe for the MAC but it is most definitely not a dupe. It is however, more pigmented. I even used it today instead of the Give Me Sun.

I still use the Give Me Sun because I paid €31.50 for it like it's not going to just sit there and go to waste but I still need to go over it with a different bronzer. Such a shame really.

I swatched these the wrong way round so they do not correspond in this photo, so imagine the opposite.

I'm not here to tell you what to do with your money but I just won't re purchase this item.

Hope you enjoyed this post!

Proud.

Hey everyone!

So I just wanted to make this post because if you know me at all, you will know that I can be the vainest bitch alive. But that's just if you know me a little bit. If you know me inside out and upside down (which very few people do) you will know that I can be extremely hard on myself.

This post is a bit different than normal but I like doing these, so we're doing it. I just wanted to document and save this post so that if I ever feel down again, I can come back for a pick me up.

Many of you that I am self taught and started all of this two years ago. I started makeup two years ago and blogging a year ago.

Sometimes it gets hard and you want to give up but thankfully I haven't. Well maybe you're not as thankful for it but I truly love what I do. I'm in it for the love of it.

Now blogging is a hobby which can get you into a lot of trouble regarding haters or whatever but it's just a hobby. An unusual hobby maybe but I really enjoy doing this. I had my rant on snapchat about how I do not get everything handed to me for free, as some may think. Even if I did, that's not why I'm here.

I'm here to share tips, products and to document some moments in my life, just like right now. That's the main aim of my blog. It's truly just dedicated to makeup and all things beauty. Nothing else.

Of course, I am lucky enough to get a few free things offered to me but listen, that's sometimes comes along with what I do and I ain't sorry for that at all.

And with the makeup. Two years is a long long time but I wouldn't want it any other way. I've done a whole other post on that so you can go read it if you want but I dunno. Today, I just want to talk about how proud I am of myself for being self taught.

I really don't mean to offend or bash anyone that has qualifications in ANYTHING but I do feel a certain level of pride when I realize I've done it all myself. I think I'm allowed to be proud of myself and I really don't want anyone to take offense to this but this ones for the self taught people - and I don't just mean makeup. I mean if you're naturally talented in anything that you do and you can be successful with it then more power to ya!

No one had to sit me down and teach me anything. I learned from YouTube and practice. I think it's important to show struggles that we've gone through and learned from but I think it's equally important to show the positives and you can actually be proud of yourself. You're allowed to feel good in the job that you're doing whether it be a profession, being a mammy or just being a friend or family member.

So as I said, not the usual post. I published these types every now and again depending on my mood. I really hope you enjoyed this and feel some bit empowered by it maybe? Let me know what you think & remember that it's okay to proud, it's good to be proud of yourself. Don't let anyone else put you down if you have ever worked for something. Own it.

Bit cheesy but I dunno what type of mood I'm in haha! Back to regular makeup and reviews tomorrow!

Hope you enjoyed.

Clarins Body Lotion Review

Hey everyone!

So today I have a short review on the Clarins Body Lotion that I got to try out.

This will be nice and short because I really love it. As you may notice from photos, I'm pretty much always tanned - Tan Goddess by Babydoll Cosmetics is my favorite self tanner as it lasts super long. This tan lasts about 4 whole days on its own but we all know that moisturizer will help keep the tan as best as it can.

I used to use the Vaseline spray moisturizer because it was quick, easy & fast drying. When I got the Clarins one I expected that it would be thick and would take all night to dry. I was wrong though, yes it's a thick cream but it dries so quickly, I don't know how it does it. I also found that this kept my tan on more evenly and just generally better than the quick spray I used to use.

So overall, I'm really impressed with this lotion. A little goes a long way with it. Absolutely delighted with it. If you need a new body lotion I would recommend trying this out! You can pick it up in your local Sam McCauleys chemist.

Hope you enjoyed this review.

Urban Decay Blogger Event & Lipstick Launch

Hey everyone!

If you follow me on snapchat you would have seen that I attended an event in Urban Decay. By now, I'm sure you have all seen that Urban came out with 100 new lipsticks and 50 new lip liners. This is a collaboration with the amazing Ruby Rose.

There are 100 new lipsticks and they come in 6 different finishes:

  1. Mega Matte
  2. Comfort Matte
  3. Cream
  4. Metallized
  5. Sheer
  6. Sheer Shimmer
So there is something for everyone. The lip liners are the usual formula (which I absolutely love) just in all new colours.

I think all women have a slight weakness for lipsticks, you can never have too many! So if you're passing an Urban Decay counter, I highly recommend you pop in and check out the stand of lipsticks. It's actually overwhelming haha!

So I think that's all I can tell you about the lipsticks. I already own two matte lipsticks from Urban and I can tell you that they last all day long - even better than my MAC ones.

These lipsticks are €18 each which is even cheaper than the other ranges and lip liners are €17 each, so around the same price point as MAC.

Upon attending the launch, we were gift little but amazing goody bags from the lovely Lisa. Lisa runs her blog http://cuddlesandcontouring.blogspot.ie/ and is just an amazingly talented woman!

I think we all got something a bit different in our bags #DeiseBloggers and I'm over the moon with mine, so here is what I got..

I have heard great things about this mascara so I can't wait to try it out. Let's see is it as good as my Lancome ones!

The idea of this eye shadow and eye primer sample is so cool. I actually own both of these shadows so I know I already love them. I have never tried out the primer potion!

So here's an even bigger sample of the primer potion! Very excited to try this one out. I wonder will it bet my cheap Essence eye base.

I got 3 samples of some lipglosses! Lovely as not many clients go for a glossy lip but handy to have in case.

So that's my goody bag done! Absolutely delighted with it, thank you so much to Lisa. Of course, I had to buy something. So I bought two metallic lipsticks, I had Kylie Jenner lip kits in mind when buying these! I cannot wait to try them out.

The packaging on these lippies are amazing! They're designed to look like actual bullets. These cost €18 each.

I'm just obsessed with the packaging. The lipstick inside is even more beautiful.

Backdoor is a bronzey shade. I'm going to pair this with LIAR lip liner, also by Urban Decay.

Trance is a pinky mauve colour that is obvs metallic. It looks like it would look fab on anyone!

So that's it! That's the blogger event & mini haul rolled into one! Go check out the stands in store if you can, it's just amazing. You'll be spoilt for choice.

Hope you enjoyed this post! Watch out on my snapchat & instagram to see the lippies in action.
