UPDATED: Where do I get my lashes?

Hi everyone!

I've had a busy week with college and also travelling to Cork to do makeup! I'm so busy with clients and I'm not complaining at all, I absolutely love it. With that being said, my blog has been left behind a bit this week but I guess I can't always balance everything!

I always get asked where do I get my lashes from and the answer to that is: eBay. I buy in bulk because they take ages to arrive but recently I've got some new styles in so I wanted to share them with you today. Price and links will be shown along with photos :)

Also if you're in Dungarvan next Saturday, so the 6th of Feb, I'll be in there doing demos of New Look Makeup which is NewLook's own makeup range! It's between 2-5 o clock so pop in to say hi and learn some new tips and tricks and to also learn about the makeup range itself! I'm so excited, can't wait to see you there!

So I have a few new lash bundles to show you so let's get into it..

10 Different Lash Styles €1.60

Wispy Natural Lashes 5 Pairs 65c

10 Pairs Of Semi Thick Lashes €1.30

Thick Lashes 5 Pairs - Option 8  €1.30

Thin Lashes 5 Pairs - Option 25 €1.30 I actually don't have a photo for these but just click option 25 and you can see them there. They are very natural looking lashes once applied.

Mink Lashes 1 Pair €1.50

Thick Lashes 5 Pairs €1.80

Alright so girls I think that's all I have for now! All lashes are from eBay and take about a month to arrive so order in bulk. They're clearly not expensive at all so even spend a fiver and you'll be sorted for the Summer! Amazing lashes to have for yourself or in your makeup kit if you're a makeup artist.

I hope you enjoyed this post and left me know if those links work!

Face Of The Day

Hey everyone!

Today I just wanted to do a face of the day and product list for you, I wore this makeup Saturday and I thought it might interest some of you as it's a look I don't normally go for and some new products have been added to my kit!

This is the look I'll be talking about

And here are the products used!

Brows -

Inglot Brow Gel in 16
Billion Dollar Brows powder in taupe
Catrice Cream Concealer to tidy up

Eyes -

Gwen Stefani Palette by Urban Decay
Inglot Duraline - for the blue shade
Doll Eyes Mascara by Lancome

Face -

Center - Inglot YSM Foundation in 49
Perimeter - Inglot HD Foundation in 77 & Vichy Dermablend in 45
MAC Pro Longwear Concealer in NC15
NYX HD Concealer in 01
Powder - From the Blank Canvas Contour Kit

Contour - Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit

Highlight - Marylou by theBalm

Blush - Daint by MAC

Lips - Liar lip pencil by Urban Decay & Honeylove lipstick by MAC

Now I hope you enjoyed this short post, I just wanted to quickly mention that the Gwen Stefani Palette and the Inglot YSM foundation are my two new favs and I would highly recommend them if you have the money! Expensive I know but the foundation is amazing, it's full coverage and light and it's about €20 which isn't too bad and the palette is something you can use on a daily basis or also for a night out as it has equally light and dark shades and also pops of colour! The palette is about €50 but such a good investment! I didn't think I would like either of them as much as I do!

Hope you have a great week!

The Petite Boutique

Hi everyone!

Today I wanted to talk to you about an online shop called The Petite Boutique. Now maybe you have or haven't heard of it but if you're any bit into bloggers or giveaways then you have definitely heard of the blog Jelly and Ice-Cream Blog on Facebook and they do the most amazing give-aways ever! So here's a link to the page so go check it out :)

https://www.facebook.com/Jelly-and-Ice-Cream-Blog-428009744031132/?fref=ts

So The Petite Boutique is an extension onto the Jelly and Ice-Cream Blog brand which I think is brilliant. Their website is https://jellyandicecreamblog.ie/ and here is where you can shop from, for now, there is going to be a proper website launching in February! Keep an eye out for that!

I've been following the Jelly and Ice-Cream Blog for ages but it was just recently they followed me on Instagram and that's how I came to know the brand. I followed them back and saw these amazing pieces that they were selling and the price point on these items is just unreal like so affordable. I think nearly everything could be used as gifts for others because they have a lot of jewelry which is fun and quirky so amazing little presents for people and as I said, very cheap. You won't get these pieces anywhere else, or at least I haven't seen anything like these bits around in shops or anywhere else online.

https://www.facebook.com/The-Petite-Boutique-196282657371577/

There is their Instagram so go follow them and tell them I sent you! Now, if you have me on Snapchat or follow me on Instagram you will see I have been posting about some items that The Petite Boutique kindly sent me, Thank You so much Joan! So you'll have seen these already but I just wanted to blog about it and give you some more details and if you get to the end I might have a discount code :)

So here's what my Instagram looks like at the moment and it's just full of The Petite Boutique like haha!

And my snapchat looked a bit like this!

I really do love these pieces, they're such high quality too I was really impressed! The hat that you see is obvs the royal blue pom hat and it's just €12 and I'm telling you that you'll keep warm with this hat! I don't think it's out just yet but the shop has so many other fab colours to pick from too such as grey and win pom hats :) and the Winter is defo not gone so never to late in Ireland to pick up a warm hat!

Here is my turquoise pendant which is perfect for dressing up any look as you can see! I was just wearing a plain cream dress but the pop of blue really made it that bit more dressed up and fab! This pendant is just €14. https://jellyandicecreamblog.ie/shop/uncategorized/turquoise-pendant/

And here is my gold interlocking chain which again can dress up any look and it's so dainty I love it! This is only €12, absolute bargain. https://jellyandicecreamblog.ie/shop/uncategorized/gold-interlocking-necklace/

I hope you like these pieces as much as I do! And if you do here's a discount code for 10% off your order! Even better. VIP16 is the code for 10% off so put it to good use!

I just wanted to share this brand with you as I think most of you will like the items and it's an Irish company so I'm a big believer in supporting anything Irish. I just know Irish brands are going to take off any day now, they're really pushing the boundaries and I think it's great so please support Irish if and when you can!

I hope you enjoyed this blog post and please go give everything I mentioned a follow or like!

Lipstick Collection!

Hi everyone!

Hope you're all well. Today is the long awaited lipstick collection. This post includes swatches on my arm, names, brand and finishes of the lippys that I own. I'll be giving my opinion along the way but I know you're mostly here just to see the colours and names incase you see one you really want.

My collection varies from +MAC Cosmetics  to +Sleek MakeUP  and many more! Safe to say I have a lipstick addiction. All that I currently have right now are included here but some are with friends or clients, I know, I shouldn't give them away but oh well haha. Hope you enjoy this post!

So first up we have all my +MAC Cosmetics  lipsticks, I think I have like 12 and 2 are limited edition. You'll see below the Cinderella lipstick which was limited and also the Nicki Minaj lippy & pls ignore how I spelt Nicki lmao. But yeah so there we have my MAC lippys :)

The finish of the lipstick

Names of lipsticks
Now we have some more affordable lipsticks!
This includes everything from +REVLON to +Urban Decay Cosmetics, so as you can see I have the finishes and brands and the names of the lipsticks listed below for you but just incase you want to know about price, I'll run through that roughly now!

  • Wet N Wild - €3 each
  • Revlon - €3 each on sale
  • Myleene Klass - Don't know! They were gifts sorry!
  • Sleek - €6.50 each roughly
  • Kiko - €2 on sale I'm sure
  • ELF - €1 each
  • Gosh - €8 each
  • Urban Decay - €19 each
  • Inglot - €14 each

Those are rough prices but close to that :)

And finally just a few more that I needed to swatch! These are some what more expensive lipsticks but I really love them all.
We have the names and brands but no finishes so I'll do that now and then move onto price points.

  • Chanel - Satin
  • YSL - Shine
  • Revlon - Matte
  • Myleene Klass - Matte
  • Urban Decay - Matte
  • Sleek - Matte

Clearly I'm a fan of a matte finish!

And now price points of these lippys above.

  • Chanel - €33 each
  • YSL - €35 each
  • Revlon - €3 on sale
  • Myleene Klass - It was a gift! Don't know
  • Sleek - €6.50 each

Right so girls I really hope you enjoyed this post because my arm has been pink and purple for the last week with swatches haha. All the photos do the shades justice so if you have anymore questions about the lipsticks or shades just pop me a message! Some photos were with and without the flash as you can tell. I know people will think the colours will look different on the lips than on the arm but honestly you should put concealer or foundation on your lips before lippy as this will cancel out the redness on the lips and let the true shade show through! So there's a little tip for you :)

So I think that's it lads! Hope you enjoyed this now it took some time haha!

Top 3 Tans!

Hi everyone!

Today I want to share with you my top 3 tans or my go-to tans. They're all really affordable and all can be got in your local Sam McCauley's or other chemists & also in Penneys! Seeing as we all love a good tan I'll just right into it! Disclaimer - I always get the medium/dark shade in tans because I love it.

First up here we have the bBold tan which you can see is normally €10 but you can always get things on sale. What I have here is a like lotion in spray form and also a spray. I love using the spray lotion thing as a top up, so when my tan needs a bit more, I'll spray this on top. Most tans take to my skin very well but my chest and legs always fade away. So I'll use the tan lotion on my chest and then the spray bottle that you see here, is what I use on my legs because this stuff is like leg makeup. It's unreal and so flawless, I have so many big blue veins on my legs and this covers it up. Again I'll use the spray as a top up because the tan will wash off my legs more quickly. This spray bottle does exactly what it says on the tin like honestly it's much better than Sally or anything else on the market! Both of these types of tans are instant but also do develop overnight. +bBold Tan

Next up we have my all time fav! This is Tangoddess by Babydoll Cosmetics. If you have seen photos of me from November on wards, this is the tan I have on. This is an overnight tan so don't bother putting this on the night of but it is well worth the prep before hand. This tan is so dark like I love it, if you follow me on Instagram or Facebook  you would have seen me raving about this and I still am. This tan is only €10 so it's a bargain too and just try it and thank me later! I'm fairly sure this can be got in most chemists! +Babydoll Cosmetics

And last but not least is the cheapest of them all! Both of these tans can be found in Penneys for under €5. My fav of the two would have to be the Sunkissed one because it doesn't go green at all whereas the St.Moriz one has a tendency to go green. Both tans are instant and also develop overnight too. The colour is great, I've never had a problem with them but as I said the St.Moriz can go green but that's over time like it's not normally always green haha. If you're going to get just one defo get the one in the brown bottle because it's amazing. It also smells like coconuts sure isn't that fab? I believe the Sunkissed costs €3.50 in Penneys and the St.Moriz is about €4.50 so you can't go wrong. As I said my skin takes brilliantly to tan, I know that the St.Moriz doesn't work for one of my friends so just remember that but look it's under €5, it won't break the bank. +PENNEYS +Primark

So guys that was just a quick run through of my top 3 tans that I reach for. My number 1 would have to be Tangoddess from +Babydoll Cosmetics because of the colour, small and how long it lasts on the skin. If I'm ever going out and it's last minute then my go to would be the Sunkissed one from Penneys just because it's instantly dark and doesn't smell like proper fake tan.

So lads these are just some of my views and opinions on tans and these are my current top 3 but remember that everyone's skin takes to tan differently and prep is also key to getting your tan to go on smoothly and last you as long as possible!

Let me know if I should try any other tans or what are your favs?
Hope you enjoyed this post!

Haicare!

Hey everyone so I thought I would do a post on some hair care, it won't be too long!

So first of all, my hair has been every colour possible so that means my hair is in bits. At the moment it's fine, it's just the ombre thing or whatever it's called. But I have to treat it every so often to keep it looking grand.

So I don't have a favorite shampoo or conditioner or anything, I just use whatever ones my mam buys for the house and she usually gets the good quality ones so that doesn't matter to me at all but below here are my current shampoo & conditioner and I love them! My hair is so soft with them!

What I actually think makes a difference are the likes of these sprays you see below. So I love this Dove leave in spray, it really conditions the hair even after the shower so these types of things I think are fab to use but not all the time just once a week or that to help it. Shine sprays are also lovely so make the hair look & feel amazing.

Now I am wicked for trying DIY hair masks and the likes. If I'm lazy I'll buy the 80c ones in the packet in a chemist but I have tried every DIY hair mask you can think of and what I find best is the eggs.

All you do is get one or two eggs, depending on the length of your hair and give them a good mix up and then add in some conditioner. You can add in honey or mayonnaise too but I find that just eggs and conditioner works amazing. It's a perfect hair mask for you to make at home. You can leave this in for an hour or sleep in it. It's great from blondes especially because the egg will strengthen your hair and leave it feeling strong. The honey will soften the hair and make it all shiny.

I try to do this once a week but I'll probably only do it twice a month when I remember. I find that it really works and it actually doesn't smell too bad haha!

There are tones of DIY hair masks on YouTube too but defo give the eggs a go and let me know how you get on!

I'm no expert by any means but I've learned a few tips and tricks over the years and my cousin, who you probably all know, Tara, is a hairdresser so she's taught me a lot too.

  • Try to wash your hair every second day or more. Don't wash it everyday.
  • Make sure to condition.
  • Shampoo is to clean your scalp so don't use too much, you just want to clean the scalp on a daily basis, totes different if you're washing out a dye or something but for everyday.
  • Try to use semi-permanent colours in the hair because permanent colours are just a pain to get out, trust me.
  • If you're colouring your hair a crazy colour, try to get the dye to be water based. It'll only last a week so it's great if you're likely to change your mind & it's just better for your hair in general.
  • Don't wear clip ins too much or any type of extensions because this actually stops your own hair fron growing - or so I've heard but I think it's kinda true!
  • Try to use hair bobbles without that little metal bit on them - it won't break the hair as much.
  • If your hair is a bright colour i.e red, try to find a sulfate free shampoo - it will hold the colour longer - only downside is that it doesn't bubble up and clean as well as shampoos with sulfate.
  • Try to get your hair trimmed as often as you can - it will make your hair stronger.
  • Make homemade hair masks every so often - pamper night!
  •  Use hair oils - coconut oil is the best - it's the answer to everything.
  • If you want thicker or longer hair - try the Mane N Tail horse shampoo cause it worked for me.
I think they're all my little tips for hair care that I've picked up over the years like from YouTube or people. As I said I'm no expert but these are things I've learned over the years and maybe you could try them out too :)

If you take away anything from this post, please let it be the eggs in your hair - smelly, but it works.

Hope you enjoyed this post!

Makeup Storage

Hey everyone!

Hope you're all well :)

Today I want to talk about makeup storage and what I have and what I would recommend! Even if you have the basics I think you'll find a storage system that would work for you here whether you have 5 products or 500 makeup products.

So onto my own storage, I store everything in my bedroom because that's where I work from!

So first off I have these storage drawers, which I got for Christmas! They're still bare enough but I will stock it up. I love these drawers, I would have picked these out myself if I was ever storage shopping so well done Santa. I have no idea where these are from but I found the same ones on eBay for roughly €50. I think they are a great investment if you have a lot of makeup. http://www.ebay.ie/itm/Portable-Storage-Drawer-Trolley-Kitchen-Bedroom-Kids-Toys-Clothes-Wheels-/400985101551?var=&hash=item5d5c9314ef:m:m4PsBMoUxH-k243jwqeQB8Q

Next up I have this handy lipstick stand which holds 24 lipsticks. These are definitely available in stores but I got mine on eBay for like €3. The only downside with eBay is that, most of these cheaper storage items are coming from the likes of Hong Kong and that could take up to a month to deliver so just be aware of that. I actually need to order more because I have too many lipsticks at this stage! I have a palette and lipstick problem haha! http://www.ebay.ie/itm/24-Trapezoid-Clear-Makeup-Display-Lipstick-Stand-Case-Cosmetic-Organizer-Holder-/251585053391?hash=item3a93a342cf:g:tfIAAOSwBahVVewt

Now I have this wooden box. This box was made by my brother for me for my birthday! It's actually massive and so heavy so we have it on a high table for me haha! It does fit into my shelves in my wardrobe but it's just too heavy to carry. Excuse the mess of it, it's always like that though to be honest, I can never keep it tidy. So I don't have any links for this but if you know a carpenter then I'd suggest getting them to make you one! Or give Kenny a call haha.

Again, excuse the mess. If you have a lot of makeup and work with it, you will know it's hard to keep tidy for long. So here I have a few brush holders and jars to hold my brushes. The pink and black brush holders you see are from +Sigma Beauty and you get these travel holders when you buy a brush travel kit and I obviously have two of those kits. But I don't travel really so I use them to hold my brushes. The cute jars are from Eurogiant in town and they were €1 each. So I got a few of them and yeah I just pop my brushes in there so I'd recommend popping into any sort of pound shop like Dealz or Eurogiant and you'll find cute jars in there for really cheap!

As you can see, most of my brushes are actually here and not in the jars because my radiator is under them and that is where they dry and now I guess its another place to store my brushes. It's just handy to have them all lined up there as I'm working. You'll see what I mean when you see my set up.

So here is just a shot of the drawers and lipstick stand and that is where I keep them. I'm limited with space but I ain't getting rid of my double bed anytime soon so this is what I work with haha!

So here is my actual set up. Like this is what I work with and this is what all my clients see. So I have my brushes there on the shelf, I have the makeup box on the table at a perfect height and level and then we have the chair for the client to sit in but as you can see I have even more 'boxes' on that so let's talk about that.

So these fold down boxes are from Penneys but years ago but I'm sure they have something similar in stock still. The smaller purple box you see on top is where I store my dirty/used brushes that need a wash. As my day goes on when I'm working, I'll pop the used brushes into that and at the end of the day then I just take that box to the sink and wash from there. The larger grey box underneath hold my blanket ( I lay down this blanket on the bed to protect my bed sheets from any makeup getting on it ) , my sponges, my makeup remover and some more brushes that have been used but are okay to use again or just some dried clean brushes. I suppose it's like a go to box.

So that's my storage system at the moment, not great or perfect but it works for me and my clients. Some day I would love a makeup room but for now I have a makeup/bed room haha!

I've been looking online for various types of storage that might benefit some readers so I'm going to leave links and descriptions below to these handy finds on eBay :)

I always thought cutlery storage would be great for makeup too so here's a link to some dividers that you could pop into drawers. http://www.ebay.ie/itm/Cabinet-Drawer-Cutlery-Organizer-Storage-Box-Kitchen-Utensil-Flatware-Container-/281878966277?var=&hash=item41a14bb005:m:mHFCgQE3CC8Bif4Gv8_DKbA

This is a really cute wooden box I came across on my search and I think it's just fab. I have one similar that I don't use because I don't have anything to put in it as of yet but check this out, it's so cute. http://www.ebay.ie/itm/White-Wood-Cosmetic-Makeup-Storage-Drawer-Organizer-Desktop-Case-Finishing-Box-/171997235450?var=&hash=item280bd588fa:m:mjikr1LIHf09-IxCK-OUFfA

Have you ever seen those rotating makeup storage stands? I always see them online and think they must cost a fortune and they do on some sites but I found this little gem on eBay and it's not too dear. I think if you know someone that loves makeup then it's a great gift or seriously go treat yourself! This is a 360 degree rotating makeup stand! http://www.ebay.ie/itm/Rotating-Make-up-Organizer-Cosmetic-Display-Brush-Lipstick-Storage-Stand-SE-/361453965551?var=&hash=item542855d0ef:m:mqt_qHOeO_95voln8io70kw

We all love Dealz and obviously everything is €1.49. Now Dealz have these exact things in store still, I think, so go to Dealz for these before you order on eBay but I just wanted to show you another lipstick/brush holder! http://www.ebay.ie/itm/New-Clear-Acrylic-Cosmetics-Organizer-Lipstick-Brush-Storage-Holder-Stand-Case-/252232418382?hash=item3aba39444e:g:HU8AAOSw5dNWhJWD

And finally you may have also seen these cases in Eurogiant or in other stores. I know these are available in Waterford City as my fellow blogger Melissa shared it on her page and so did Lyanne from Beauty and the Brunette so here are the two girls links so that you can find them in Waterford: Beauty and the Brunette - https://www.facebook.com/TheBeautyandtheBrunette/?pnref=story

Okay guys! I think that's everything! If you have any cool storage yourself let me know or if you have any questions just ask :) I hope you enjoyed this post and gained some storage inspiration!

My Career Journey

Hey everyone!

I know on my Facebook page 'Jodi Roche Makeup' that I said I would be doing blog posts every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, which I will be but that's starting on Monday the 11th so this just something I want to share with you all, I feel like some can relate to this or maybe it will inspire somebody to do what I did and that doesn't mean 'becoming a makeup artist' it just means 'becoming whatever you want' really.

So if you've been following my blog for a while, you would have seen a post called 'My Makeup Journey' which is a hilarious post but basically I only got into makeup in about 5th year of secondary school so that was like 2013. All I did back then was my own makeup and my close friends for nights out or whatever.

So I just stuck to doing my friends and my own face for that whole year because come 6th year I had the leaving cert to stress about and I was only finding my footing in the makeup area so to speak. I was constantly stuck to YouTube videos learning about new products and tutorials and picking up new skills, methods and ways of doing makeup. Now to be fair and vain, I did think my makeup was really good  for a 17 year old in 2014 like it was grand.

In 2014 I sat my leaving in June and just spent that whole Summer with my friends as our 'last summer together' because we were all parting ways for college in September. But as you know we all have grads/debs and that was fast approaching. My two friends had asked me to do their makeup on the day of our debs, which I was totally fine with because they are like my sisters and I've always been the only one to do their faces for other debs or nights out and stuff. But the debs wasn't until August 28th and on August 20th, that is the day that my Facebook page was made, by Cheyenne of course cause I was too scared to do it myself.

If I remember correctly, I may have actually got some bookings for other debs in our area and I was like in shock, thankfully it was just girls attending debs and not their own because that would have been too much. But yeah that's when it all started.

The debs was great, we had a ball. And shortly after, like a week later, we had to go to college. I was going in alone, like none of my friends were going, we all went to different counties, literally. So yeah in college you have a chance to start over and be who ever you want to be, which is brilliant. But that wasn't me just yet. I was so scared, shy and just kept to myself really.

As the first week went on we all got to know each other but I still didn't mention the makeup. If they searched my own personal profile then yeah they would have found my page but I didn't talk about it for a while anyway. Once I was fully settled in and had a group of friends, then I began talking and I just ended up inviting everyone to 'like' my page haha! How things change so quickly. That was when it all changed because I actually came out of myself and began sharing what I wanted to do and what I loved and thankfully my friends shared an interest in makeup too so it was lovely.

Aside from college, I started to get a bit busier. Mainly at Christmas time and you can imagine why. But that time I was €10 for a full face of makeup with lashes so you might think I ran into a few difficulties and I did. A lot actually. I was working from home, which I still do, but I had no set up or organisation at all. I would do makeup in my own room and then in my brothers room like I was all over the place.

I thought €10 an hour was brilliant pay because I was only 18 and in college so I was like: I'm getting the same or more as my classmates so this is great. But it wasn't, I have a makeup addiction and I always want more and more and better quality products and that money just wasn't covering it. I was stuck in a rut and wanted to get better products and new products to use on my clients because some products are worth the money as they do work.

I stayed at €10 for ages like longer than I should have really. I have one client that has been there for me since day one and that's Debbie. She always said to me that I should be charging more and I never listened because I just love doing makeup, I don't care about the profit side of it and I think if you met me you'd know that I just don't care about that. But I did need money to get better products.

By this time, my whole family and friends and some clients were getting onto me about raising the price so I had a chat with my cousin that's from America and she wrote out for me what I'm meant to say haha thank you Anitra! So I took her advice and basically copy and pasted it as a status and that was it.

After that happened I think I almost had a panic attack. I was so worried about people not coming to me anymore because I was too expensive and all this. But what it showed me was that some people just used me while I was cheap. I don't think my skills had improved much in this time frame so when my 'regulars' bar Debbie, stopped coming I just felt hurt really. It was just a cheap deal for them and they didn't really support me or my work.

This is when the like 'bad' feelings started coming. You can ask any of my close friends or family what I was like during this time. I felt like crap really. I wanted to give up and I thought I was being a fool for trying to be a freelance makeup artist at the age of 18 and not even qualified. I was so hard on myself at times and I still am today but I think that's just part of it all. You can't have a rainbow without a lil bit of rain as they say. Well I got a lot of rain but now I have a massive rainbow.

Just to say to anyone that wants to work on their hobby/interest/talent that you will have some very hard times like you will cry and want to give up and feel like the world is against you but the truth is that, you're your own worst critic and you shouldn't be so hard on yourself. You're only human and we all make mistakes, no one is perfect and you're certainly not perfect starting out. As long as you don't give up then it'll all work out for you and if it doesn't go the way you want to, it's because something bigger and better is in store for you.

What's for you, won't pass you.

I remember seeing others succeed so much quicker than me and I was like: what am I doing wrong? But now, I'm so thankful I didn't get what I wanted because better things, more suited to me, came my way.

I don't care what anyone says, makeup is not easy. Especially working from home. I had to learn how to talk to people that I had never met before, I had to invite strangers into my home and make them feel welcome, I had to do exactly what the client wanted or at least try to do it, I had/have to wash brushes after every use which takes up so much time and they take a whole day to dry off.  Not only that but for a short while I traveled to people's home and I don't even drive so that put pressure on my family members too. I gained so many new skills through makeup and I couldn't be happier. I've made mistakes and I've learned to not take BS off anyone or be treated like a fool anymore. I had to learn a lot, after all, I was my own boss at the age of 18.

I'm still learning as I go and I will always learn something new about this business as long as I'm in it.

Around April 2015 I only worked from home and had a little set up going. I even made an Instagram account for makeup only and a month later I set up this blog.

I set up the blog because clients always ask questions about makeup and this is a brilliant platform for me to work from. And I also just enjoy doing this, I really do.

I may not have the best grammar or punctuation like I'm not studying English, I study general business in WIT and some day I will combine the two, properly.

That's my journey so far, I started at the very bottom, I've had highs and lows and I then grew on social media between Facebook, Instagram and the Blog. That's a small bit of my journey anyway. I could talk about it forever to be honest and I know I focused a lot on the struggles but I have had more positives than negatives but I just wanted to show that this isn't easy, so if you want something, work for it like go make it happen. It's worthless if its just handed to you. I'm happy I struggled because now I have a story and I'm better now than I ever was before.

My happy sides to all of this are always shared on my Instagram or page, just go have a look. I just did this post to show the harder side of it. And I did this really briefly. I just sat down at 3:30 and began typing, I have a client now so I must go but I hope you can understand a small bit of what I went through to get here and just take something from it.

I just hope this helps someone or inspires someone to do whatever they want to do, please don't think this is about makeup because it's not, that's just my passion.

If you enjoyed this then please let me know, sorry it's so long! Could have been longer haha! Congrats to getting this far, I'll let you go now :)

Online Shopping Spree

Hey everyone!

Hope you're all well, I'm not unfortunately but I think everyone is sick this time of year! The only good thing about it is the fact that I don't have any more clients until the 9th so that's great as I hate cancelling on people. Hopefully I'll be better by then.

Anyways today I feel like doing a bit of online shopping to cheer myself up and thought I would share it with you! My fav site to shop from is cloud10beauty, it's an amazing Irish website that stock brilliant brands and not just makeup! All aspects of beauty, if you have been following me for a while then you know all this already but if you're new, then hello :) I love cloud10beauty haha it won't be the last time you hear me rave about it. Shipping is free on orders over €15 and it's quick too!

If you want to check it out then here's the link > http://tinyurl.com/qxhn2ar

So because I'm feeling down, I want to shop, that comes natural to us all I think haha. And I know I was spoiled for Christmas but a girl can never have too much makeup!

My mother will go mad when she sees all of this coming in the post hahah.

So what I picked up was the Blank Canvas Master Series Palette 1 for myself and the Blank Canvas 6 shade Contour Palette! Both came to €51 which isn't bad as Blank Canvas is a fab brand with high quality products. You can use the code XMAS to get €10 off a €50 spend which is what I did so now I'm paying €41! Brilliant!

Well girls I hope you enjoyed this and I can't wait for my palettes to arrive! The post man will be sick of seeing me haha! You may even use the code now and treat yourself too!
