Tomitago - Beauty Elixir

Hey everyone!

Today I want to share with you my first impressions of the Tomitago Beauty Elixir. We received this 20ml of the elixir at the #DEISEBLOGGERS event in August. We actually got so many things and I'm finally getting around to giving this a go!

So first of all I love the packaging. I know it's the product that's important but I really do like how it's presented, it's just so simple yet effective. This 20ml can be bought online for €18. http://www.tomitago.com/store/p8/%221%22_Beauty_Elixir_%2820mls%29.html

So secondly, the smell. It doesn't smell bad at all it just sort of reminds me of tea tree oil even though there's none in it! But either way it's a fresh scent which I do like.

This can be used as a serum, an eye cream and a moisturizer. The beauty elixir is an all in one product, I love multi purpose products as it cuts down time on my skincare routine and saves me buying a separate product for each area on my face.

This is a short blurb from their website that explains the product perfectly: 1 Beauty Elixir is a unisex product and 100% chemical free.It eliminates the need for separate eye serum, face serum, eye cream, day cream, night cream and primer.ONE product does it all.

My first impression of this was that I honestly wasn't used to the oily feeling of this product, I didn't think I would like it on my skin. Bare in mind this was just as I was warming it up in my hands, I hadn't applied it yet.

But I was wrong and this product has made my skin feel luxurious. It is an oily product so my face does feel super oily but in a good way! It really feels like it's getting all the moisture it needs and I cannot wait to see how my skin is in the morning!

I will keep you posted on how I like this product. This type of all in one product is new to me so I'm hoping I wake up in the morning loving how my skin is. Tomitago is an Irish brand that's made locally enough! Pilltown to be exact! Always great to support local business's and Irish in general.

Anyways I shall let you know how I like this in the morning but so far so good! A brand worth checking out.

Artdeco

Hey everyone!

Today I wanted to tell you a bit about the makeup brand Artdeco. If you have me on Snapchat then you know that I absolutely love the contour palette from Artdeco, I use it on myself and clients all of the time!

This palette is amazing, it has an under-eye powder for that highlighted look, a blusher, an amazing strobing powder which is just out of this world and then 3 contour/bronze shades.
As I said, I use it all of the time because it has everything you need for a perfect cheek area. We got this palette at the #Deisebloggers event! The girls from the Artdeco stand in Denbenhams,Waterford just went above an beyond to bring this amazing product to us, thank you so so much! You would have seen me use this palette in the majority of my makeup tutorials and clients are always like what's that!? This palette costs €37.50 which is a bargain because you can buy the shades singular and it would cost you about €60 or more if you were to 'build' it yourself.

As mentioned if you're in Waterford city you can pick this palette up in Debenhams but for my local, Dungarvan readers, Hallahan's Chemist beside Ulster Bank are ordering in a few palettes so I would grab them while you can. They're not in stock yet but I will of course let you know when!

If you're on the paler side I would pick up the COOL palette and if you have a bit of a natural tan or always wear fake tan then I would recommend the WARM palette.

As I said Hallahan's Chemist, Dungarvan have ordered in the contouring palette. They actually have the whole stand of Artdeco in store so I would suggest you pop in for a look yourself! The lads inside are so lovely anyways but even nicer as they gave me a few bits to try out and to let you all know what the brand is like.

I'll start off by saying that the stand has everything! You can buy a full face from the stand so whatever your needs are you'll be able to pick up something. Nothing annoys me more than a stand with only half the products available. Artdeco, in my opinion, is a high quality brand but in the middle with its prices. So like a foundation is €25 from Artdeco but it's comparable to MAC yet it's a tenner or more cheaper than a MAC foundation. I think for the quality of the products, the price point is more than reasonable. I'm never a makeup snob but more often than not, you pay for what you get with the exception of a few hidden gems. So this brand screams high quality yet good price point to me. I can see why they give an Artdeco kit to students studying makeup.

So as I said I'm just getting to play with these products now so I don't have a proper review for you but reviews will follow during the week. As mentioned I have had the contour palette with a few weeks and I have been using it and I love it but I only just got these next few bits. If you cannot wait for the blog posts you can pop over to my Snapchat: liljodibubz because I post on that like everyday!

But anyways the lads thought it would be good for me to try products that you may use everytime you wear makeup which I agree with. There's no point in me showing you these crazy things that you'd only apply for a special occasion and the likes! So I was given this foundation to try out. It's the rich treatment foundation and costs €25.

I actually got a sample of this foundation at the #Deisebloggers event but I only tried it out once before and I would like to wear it a bit more to see how much I really like it. I must say that I did enjoy it the first time I tried out the sample of it but I will keep you posted. As you can see it claims to be waterproof so we may put that to the test too. This foundation comes in 9 shades.

Next up is mascara because again, if we're ever wearing makeup we're going to mascara every time too. So I got the All-In-One mascara I believe this costs about €16. As you can imagine this mascara claims to do it all hence the name. We will put this to the test!

I don't know about you but I have really oily eye lids so I need an eye shadow base, even when I'm not wearing eye shadow because my eyes just crease and it's not a good look. I can't wait to try this out. I'm on the hunt for a new favorite eye shadow base as my old favorite got discontinued! This costs about €10 for a good sized pot of it.

And last but not least I got the camouflage cream concealer which as you can see claims to be waterproof and also covers tattoos. This reminds me a lot of the one from Catrice so I'll be comparing it to that when I get a chance to play around with it. I believe this costs about €11.

So lads as you see I got some lovely bits to try out and I can't wait! You all know I'm open to any brand and this one is a fairly new to me. Hallahan's Chemist in Dungarvan is the only chemist that stocks Artdeco so definitely pop in for a look. They also have SoSueMe and Real Techniques so well worth a pop in store!

I hope you enjoyed this post and let me know if you have tried anything from the brand! Their lipsticks look savage I have to pick up the nude shades.

New Product Alert!

Hey everyone!

I'm sure you're aware that bloggers get press releases sent to them constantly! Well today I received an email about this new product which I think you'd all love to hear about too. Now I do not have this product but I have something similar and that is why I feel the need to share with you all.

If you have been following me for a while then you know I am gone skincare crazy! I want to do the best for my skin to keep it in good nick. So I have the Cleanse Off Mitt which is owned by Jennifer Rock AKA theskinnerd on snapchat. This mitt is designed as a pre cleanse so what it does it removes every inch of your makeup just by adding water. As I said I have this mitt myself and use it every time to remove my cake face.

However, if you follow theskinnerd then you will know that the mitt is constantly out of stock. Which is why I want to bring you an alternative! As I said I just got this email today and felt it would be fantastic to share with you all.

I am truly in love with the cleanse off mitt and I'm sure any mitt by any brand is great too but I only know of these two! Here is a picture of the cleanse off mitt that I have..

But as I said, this is always sold out. So today I'm bringing you a slightly more expensive alternative but I really do like the idea of these mitts and how they perform. And all you need is water, it couldn't be easier.

This makeup removing mitt is from GLOV and this will be stocked in Shaws stores and certain pharmacies nation wide! There is a square mitt which will cost €16..

And there's like a mitten shape available for €14..

I just felt the need to share these products with you because I do believe in them and there is a science behind it all. Imagine the amount of wipes you go through a month even? We all know how bad baby wipes are for your face! These mitts can last up to 3 months and as I said all you do is add water.

You can clean these with just some soap and water and they're good to go again. I use mine all of the time to remove my makeup! I must actually show ye on Snapchat and Facebook what the mitt can do!

So lads if you ever see any of these types of mitts I would highly suggest you pick one up. It will benefit your skin so much and save you buying wipes all the time!

Hope you enjoyed this post and let me know if you have any of these mitts or know of any other brands!

The Instagram Tag

Hey everyone!

So I was tagged by the lovely Emma from Face on Fleek to do the Instagram tag! I will leave her post here - https://emmagibbfof.wordpress.com/2016/09/05/instagram-tag/

This just involves a few questions about my Instagram profile! So if you follow me over there then you know I post pretty much everyone on my Insta. Selfies, before & afters, client photos and even products that are up on here for review! My Instagram is a mix and match of everything beauty related so let's jump right into the tag.

1. What's your Instagram username?

Same as my Facebook, it's jodirochemakeup I just thought it would be easier to keep them all the same so you can find me easily haha!

2. How many times do you post a day?

I think only once or twice a day but sometimes I could post like five a day. It depends really!

3. What is your most liked post?

Oh probably this before & after. It got so many likes and comments, I didn't know if it was a compliment or insult hahaha!

4. How many posts do you have on Instagram?

Not that many actually haha 897 at the mo!

5. Out of all the filters on Instagram what is your favorite?

Well seeing as this is about my makeup Instagram profile, I don't use filters on this profile. Whatever photos I take I just take and upload them but if a client sends me a selfie and it seems like different quality than my usual posts well that's obviously because they have sent it to me and I can't do much about that haha but my Instagram is filter free.

6. Favorite image you have captured?

Well considering it's mostly selfies I can't pick one hahaha too vain.

7. Do you use a camera or phone to take photos?

I use my phone which is an iPhone 6.

8. Do you edit pictures?

I use the app layout to like create mirror images and swap them around but that's the only type of editing I do to my photos. As I said before this is a filter free profile hahah.

9. Who is your favorite Instagram user?

That's too hard for me to answer but I follow pretty much every single Inglot MUA so any of those!

10. What's the very first picture you uploaded?

After all that scrolling it's a client selfie of Bernie! Too cute!

Thanks so much to Emma for tagging me to do this! Really enjoyed this tag & I hope you all did to. Be sure to go check out Emma's post which I have linked above!

I'd like to tag:

Lisa- Cuddles and Contouring
Rachael - Rachsbeautique
Denise - Holy Chic

Update number one million...

Hey everyone!

I feel like I'm constantly writing updates and apologizing for being so absent on the blog but I really need to tell you what I've been up to before I just start lashing out the blog posts again ahah!

So basically, many of you may know that I had exams at the end of August. So at the start of August I had to begin studying! As you may know we held a bloggers event at the start of August too so that was a lot of work as well.

So yeah I had an event and then 10 days to cram 12 weeks worth of knowledge into my little brain. That's exactly what's been happening with me. I had been studying and had exams 22-27 not to mention doing clients in between!

I finished my exams on the 27th which was a Saturday, I went out for my friends 21st and then the following day I went to Cork with the girls for Jeanette Cronin & Gemmaleigh's makeup master class. I have been so so so busy with debs season then and also regular clients! I can't complain.

Life has just been so crazy and hectic the past few weeks but once college starts on Monday, I'll have a routine and be all back in action!

Hope you can all understand where I'm coming from and be sure to stay tuned, I have a tone of product reviews coming for you.

Sleek MakeUp Palette & Illuminator - First Impressions

Hey everyone!

Today I want to share my initial thoughts on some +Sleek MakeUP products which we were kindly gifted at the #deisebloggers event a few weeks ago. These are available for half price in The Waterford Health Park Pharmacy and also Joe Kelly's Chemist Abbeyside.

You may have seen these products before and be interested to know what they're like. So here are my first impressions! I will be doing a snapchat tutorial using them tomorrow so stay tuned. My username is: liljodibubz

So first up is the Sleek illuminator in Cuba!

So to be honest, I wasn't to keen on this when I first saw it, simply because it's pink. Now a pink highlighter is amazinggg however I tend to mix these in with foundations and I personally rather myself and clients to have a more yellow base. Most of my clients wear fake tan so you do need a yellow base to help that match and it's just a personal preference of mine. I honestly just thought that I wouldn't ever use this.

But I was wrong. I pumped a bit onto my hand and blended it out and just wow. You can see for yourself.

So as you can see it almost has a golden touch to it. It's not as pink as I thought it would be, judging by the bottle! I always see ncmakeup use this in her tutorials on snapchat and wondered how she wasn't ever pink! And now I know why. I'm so excited to use this! This is in and around the €11 mark.

Next up I have a multi-purpose palette from Sleek. This has 4 eye-shadows and two cheek colours. It's an eye & cheek palette called Dancing Til Dusk.

I know that this is currently half price in The Waterford Health Park Pharmacy and in Joe Kelly's Abbeyside! I think it'll cost you about €6.

Now if you've been following me you would know that I picked up the other Sleek eye & cheek palette and I wasn't too fond of it so I wasn't expecting much from this.

As you can see, these are absolutely stunning, wearable colours. Everyone and anyone can/will wear colours like this. Now being honest, the other palette looked fantastic as well so I wasn't letting the look of it affect me because it's really all about the formula. So I had to jump in and do a few swatches.

There's the top three swatched on my arm. Look at the brown shade!

And there's the bottom three swatched along side them.

These have swatched beautifully and much better than the other palette. Must have been a bad batch or something! That's how they got into Dealz lol.

But no honestly I'm so impressed with this palette now. They feel so soft and smooth. I know arm swatches are different to on the eye but that's just to give you an idea. I'll do a tutorial on them tomorrow. I cannot wait to give both products a go!

My overall first impression of both products is positive. I was pleasantly surprised as I didn't have high hopes for them.

Can't wait to use these tomorrow in a tutorial so stay tuned!

Hope you enjoyed this post. Let me know if you've tried these.

My Daith Piercing

Hey everyone!

Today I wanted to briefly talk about this piercing that I got about 3 weeks ago. It's called the Daith, you may have heard of this before.

The reason you would have heard of this would be because there's a myth that the Daith piercing can 'cure' migraines. Well I've been getting a tone of questions about it and how it's working for me so I'm going to try to tell you everything about my experience with it.

First of all, I got mine done in Something Funky, Dungarvan and it cost me €15. You won't believe me when I tell you how terrified I am of needles and piercings because I'm covered in tattoos but they're so much more different, to me anyway.

Like many people, I suffer from daily headaches and the occasional migraine. My migraines stem from smells, so basically, I have a really sensitive nose. My mother couldn't even light a tea light candle without me complaining about the smell off it even though there is none! As you can imagine I couldn't use spray deodorant or perfume without getting a headache at least. I would avoid LUSH like the plague and as mentioned, no candles in the house or anything like that.

It's the bane of my life because everything has a smell to it. Especially when I'm doing makeup and a client has a lovely perfume on but I'm secretly dying inside with the pain haha!

I think I heard of this piercing 'curing' migraines well over a year ago. I done my research and watched YouTube videos on it. I found out that it is a 50/50 chance that it may work on a person. Everyone is different, what works for me may not work for you. But I was so tired of it, I just said I'd go for it.

To be honest, I haven't looked back since. It's actually working for me. As I said, it's been about 3 weeks now and I haven't had one headache let alone migraine. I know it's easy for me to say: take the chance! simply because it's working for me but it might actually work for you too. If it doesn't work at least you have a pretty piercing.

I just want to educate you and make sure that you're fully aware that it may NOT cure your migraines like it did for me. Thankfully it worked for me because now we have candles burning and lashing of perfume on us going around the house! It's actually life changing haha.

A big question was: did it hurt? I mean, it's not like I didn't feel it but it wasn't painful either. Trust me, if a whimp like me can sit down and get it done no bother then anyone can. Plus it's over in like less than a minute. I couldn't have recommended Something Funky more to be honest, they made sure I was okay at all times, talked me through it all and wouldn't let me leave until they knew I was 100% okay. After all, you've just wounded your ear, your body can and will go into a bit of a shock, there are sugar levels that either go high or low and mix in adrenaline with that, you're bound to get a bit light headed.

I would recommend eating a small snack before hand and also pick up a bottle of Coke or 7UP for after wards! Just to make sure you're okay and then also eat after too. It is a big enough piercing to get done so just mind yourself. The lads in Something Funky will go through it all with you and tell you about aftercare and all that, I'm not a pro so I'll leave that to them.

I think that's it! Your Daith part on your ear will swell a bit but it'll go after a couple of days. It doesn't hurt to sleep on and it's not sore to get done and it won't be sore after you get it done either.

So lads that's just my experience with it all. I would recommend you get it done and it might make a difference for your migraines or headaches. Just do your research on it beforehand, like you should with everything! And if you think you're too old for it, you're silly because you can't even see the piercing at all and then after about 6-8 weeks you can go back into the lads for a smaller bar if you wish so don't worry about that!
